StatusSeat swivel switch DescriptionThe stair lift has a safety feature so that when the seat is not in the correct position for traveling it will not move. This code indicates that the seat is not in the correct position to operate. SolutionCheck the seat is locked in the ride position
(the back of the seat should be against the wall the lift runs up). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Seat Swivel Switch AdjustmentIf seat is locked in correct position (facing across the stairs) and the diagnostic lights on the armrest are showing a steady yellow light or the LED display is showing a '4', the seat swivel switch is showing an open circuit. It is likely that the seat swivel switch (fig.1) needs to be adjusted.
The circuit needs to be closed (the switch depressed) to allow the lift to operate. With optimum adjustment the switch will be depressed by the seat cotter pin (fig2) when the seat is in the correct locked position.
When the seat is swiveled, the switch is released, thus disabling the lift (fig.3)
To adjust the switch, remove the seat assembly and plastic index plate cover, if fitted. Loosen the 15mm lock nuts on the barrel of the switch (one either side of the index plate) and reposition, so that 5 or maximum 6 threads are visible above the upper lock nut and tighten the lower lock nut. Refit the plastic cover and seat. Check that the switch is depressed correctly when seat is locked in correct position. This completes seat swivel switch adjustment procedure.
