| The QuickieŽ Xtender is
Quickie's latest in a continuing line of power-chair innovations. By
providing a power assist to a manual chair, users can now maintain the
look, control and functionality of a manual chair, without the extra
effort involved in unassisted manual propulsion. The Quickie Xtender
will xtend the distance you travel, xtend the efficiency of your push
and xtend your transportation options. |

Quick
Disconnect Wheels
Similar to a quad-release axle, the QuickieŽ Xtender features a
quick disconnect wheel/axle. By simply pulling out the hub handle,
the entire motor/wheel assembly is easily removed from the chair.
| |
Transportability
Because of its similarity to a manual wheelchair, the Quickie
Xtender is easy to store and transport. Unlike a traditional power
chair, the weight is spread evenly over three components: right
motor/wheel, left motor/wheel, and battery. |
| |
Electronically Synchronized Wheels
The Quickie Xtender features an automatic wheel synchronization
system which compensates for any arm strength imbalance the user may
have. This feature makes the Xtender one of the most user friendly,
quick set-up power assist systems in the market. |

Lightweight Battery
A single battery weighing 6 1/4 lbs. is the only source necessary to
power the Quickie Xtender. This battery has its own charger and only
takes 2 - 3 hours to charge. Additional backup batteries may also be
purchased. |
| |
The Quickie
Xtender is available in two versions. The first version increases
the force applied to the handrims by a factor of 1.5. The second
version increases the force applied by a factor of 3. This added
assistance can decrease the users energy expenditure by as much as
45%. |
Unlike
traditional power chairs, whose batteries alone can weigh up to 100
lbs., the total additional weight of the Quickie Xtender is only 37
lbs. The overall weight is divided into three components, the
heaviest of which is only 17.5 lbs. |
The Quickie
Xtender is designed to maximize control. When the chair is brought
to a stop, the wheels will not activate in the reverse direction. |
The Quickie
Xtender is available on the Quickie 2, Quickie 2HP, Quickie GP/GPV,
Quickie GP Swing Away, and Quickie GP Titanium chair models. |
In addition to
providing a power assist going up hills, the motor/gearing also acts
as a break when traveling downhill. This feature ensures the safety
of the power-assist operation. |
The Quickie
Xtender now features a newly redesigned axle-plate that mounts to
the inside of the chair's frame. By mounting the plate on the
inside, the chair's width stays constant when converting to a
power-assist platform. This, in turn, makes the transition much more
transparent to an end user. |
